WELL bred filly Millrace could be Thousand Guineas bound following her impressive win in the maiden over 1420 metres at the UBET Racing Centre in Launceston last night.

The Chris Crook and Imogen Miller-trained filly was having only her fourth start but showed enough in winning to warrant connections to contemplate heading to the $30,000 Thousand Guineas in Launceston next Wednesday night.

“We’ll see how she pulls up but the Thousand Guineas is definitely an option,” said co-trainer Imogen Miller.

Millrace (Husson-Liffeybel) was well ridden by Anthony Darmanin who had the filly settled just better than midfield and wide but with cover to the home turn.

When he asked her for the big effort she quickly gathered in the leaders and then had no trouble in staving off a host of challengers and went on to score by almost two lengths from Hell Baby with the well backed Full of Promises ($26 into $7.40) a close-up third.
