BRIGHTON trainer Gary White will target the 3YO Cup after promising filly Three Crowns secured her maiden victory over the 1100 metres at Tattersall’s Park on Sunday.

Three Crowns, having her second start after her debut a fortnight ago, was urged along from an inside barrier by apprentice Ronan Keogh and quickly found the rails. The three-year-old filly was boxed in on the straight but a patient ride by Keogh found her a gap in the closing stages to score by a length.

First starter Longway To The Top finished a close up second with race leader Titus Flavius third after an excellent piece of riding from Kelvin Sanderson.

“She has shown a lot of ability and with the good gate speed that she has she was able to put herself in the race and win well” said White

“It’s not easy with a raw horse, but she showed a lot of courage. She ran a good time and it was a great ride by Ronan” he said

The $60,000 3YO Cup will be run on the 18th November under lights at the TOTE Racing Centre.
