TASMANIA’S riding ranks will be dented for the next month owing to two of its top apprentices taking time off to return to their native Turkey.
Rasit Yetimova and Bulent Muhcu left Tasmania today on a four-week holiday that will include spending at least half of that time visiting family and friends in Turkey.
Both finished in the top 10 on the senior jockeys premiership last season finishing with 25 and 23 wins respectively.
Another Turkish-born apprentice Erhan Kacmaz has relocated from Victoria to help fill the void and he will be domiciled with Broadmarsh trainers Walter and Brendan McShane.
Kacmaz claims two kilograms and is no stranger to Tasmania having rode regularly in the state last season.
