PROMINENT thoroughbred syndicator Joe O’Neill has enjoyed a lot of success in Tasmania and this season one of the two-year-olds he sent to the Charlie Goggin-Luella Meaburn stable could make an impact in some of the early juvenile races.

Strike For Victory showed enough in a 900-metre trial at UBET Park Hobart today to suggest she will make an impact in the first two-year-old race of the season in Hobart next Monday.

The filly, by Smart Missile from the Anabaa mare Reve de Victoire, showed brilliant early speed to lead comfortably and then she dropped the bit and relaxed under rider Shuji Amano to the home turn where he asked her for more and she sped clear.

Strike For Victory hit the line not fully extended to win by three lengths from Tom Archie (Red Arrow-Amour Cache) with Chief Navigator (Tough Sped-No Reflection)   .

She stopped the clock at 58.20 seconds.

Goggin was pleased with the trial and said he expects the filly to be competitive in whatever she contests this season.
