TRAINER Keith Toulmin was a notable absentee from the winner’s circle for the latter part of last season but he has returned with a vengeance.
Toulmin is lying third on the state trainer’s premiership with three winners and as many minor placings from only 13 starters with his most recent victory emerging from last Sunday night’s meeting in Launceston.
Murphy’s Rocket made it two wins in succession when he dispensed with a handy field of C2-3 performers over 2200 metres.
“This horse has only been with me for about two months and he has settled in really well,” Toulmin said.
Murphys Rocket led and once in front Toulmin rated the gelding superbly to go on and score comfortably from Denvers Boy and My Centurion.
Toulmin has nominated Murphys Rocket for Hobart this Sunday night and he expects the five-year-old son of Life Sign to be very hard to beat.
