- Weather: Rain. Bureau of Meteorology forecast.
- Track rating: Soft 5
- Peno: 4.56
- Rail last meeting: True (14 October)
- Pattern last meeting: The track has raced in excellent order at the first two meetings since an extended break. Read the meeting review from last Wednesday here.
- Pattern last meeting in this rail position: 26 February. This was Launceston Cup Day where rain for most of the morning saw racing on a soft 7. The inside held up very well and it was an advantage to be closer to the rail as few runners made ground out wide.
Comments from John Burke (Launceston Track Manager)
On the track performance at the previous two meetings.
“We’re very pleased with how the track has raced.
“There are little to no signs of wear.”
On the expected track rating for Friday.
“The weather is the unknown, some weather sites are showing up to 20mm of rain.
“We could potentially start on a good 4 but it could also be much worse, it all depends on how much rain arrives.”
