LAST season’s star juvenile filly Triple Asset was named the Veolia Environmental Services 2YO Horse of the Year and she also picked up the Tasbreeders Outstanding Filly or Mare Award. Racing in three states during the season, Triple Asset won four races from eight starts, including two at Group 3 level.

Dream Pedlar was named Tasmanian Horse of the Year at a special awards presentation fiunction at Country Club Tasmania last Friday night..

Dream Pedlar won the listed Bendigo Cup in October and ran fourth twice in the Group 3 Queens Cup and Group 3 Coongy Handicap in Melbourne, before returning home to win the Tasmanian Stakes and the $100,000 Devonport Cup.

Tasmanian Guineas winner Socks won the Rotary Club of Central Launceston 3YO of the Year.

David and Scott Brunton were named the Derwent Park Developments Leading Trainers, preparing 88 winners for the season at an incredible strike rate of 21 per cent.

Paul and Elizabeth Geard won the Hermanos Equine Services Leading Owner Award while jockey Brendon McCoull won his 12th premiership (Kevin Sharkie Leading Jockey Award) after riding 104 winners at a strike rate of just under 25 per cent.

The Tasmanian Racing Club Leading Apprentice was Talia Rodder who rode 39 winners and placed fourth in the overall jockey premiership.
