LAST season’s top Tasmania two-year-old filly Triple Asset has had her interstate spring campaign aborted following two substandard performances in Melbourne.
Her trainer John Keys said he had no option but to bring the filly home.
“She hasn’t been herself for a while now and there is no point in continuing,” Keys said.
“We will bring her home, give her a couple of months in the paddock and start afresh.”
“She has o injury problems but she hasn’t been eating properly since she’s been in Victoria.”
“The filly actually weighs less now than she did as a two-year-old,” he said.
Triple Asset thrived last season when she raced in three states, winning at Group 3 level in Melbourne and Adelaide (SA).
“It didn’t bother her at all last time she travelled so maybe we’ve just got to put it down to us not giving her a long enough break.”
“If we decide to take her away again we’ll more than likely give her a couple of runs in Tasmania before we go,” he said.
