IT took three years but five-year-old pacing mare Trump Lady finally relinquished her maiden status with a win in the Brougham Street Supermarket Stakes for 3YO and older non winners at Carrick Paceway today.
Trump Lady (Trump Casino-Chamfer Lady) made the most of the pole position to lead the field and when her trainer-driver Adrian Duggan gave her more rein turning for home she burst clear and went on to score by big margin.
Duggan was delighted with the win, suggesting that there may be more in the near future now that she’s learned how to win.
Trump Lady was having her 35th start and while she’s had 11 minor placings to help pay her way, there were a few punters on course who shook their heads in disbelief that the mare had finally won a race.
