ONE of Tasmania’s most promising pups Underclass Hero delivered the goods again at Devonport today where he recovered from an average beginning to power his way to an emphatic win in the Seba Sheet Metal Grade 5 over 452 metres.
Underclass Hero missed the start from box one while Minnie Mogul began like a shot to easily hold the lead to the top turn.
But Underclass Hero kept driving up along the rail and edged clear turning for homer and went on to easily account for Minnie Mogul with Hellyeah Fiona a distant third.
It was Underclass Hero’s third win in succession and while he had the best form in the race he still paid $2.60 after firming in from $4 close to race start time.
He scored a similar win in Hobart last Thursday night so he has definitely struck a purple patch of form.
The Mick Stringer-trained dog has won three from nine but his trainer expects him to develop into a top grade performer.
“I have high hopes for this dog and his litter brother Topline Star that ran second in a grade four today,” Stronger said.
Topline Star has won six of his 13 starts with five minor placings so he is well on the way to establishing himself as a genuine top grader.
Like his litter sibling, he missed the start today and had to be content to run home powerfully to finish second to the heavily backed Hellyeah Missile that is the winner of 11 of his 27 starts.
