VICTORIAN three-year-old fillies Temper Tantrum and Khandallah are expected to mirror the result of the Strutt Stakes in Hobart 109 days ago when they battle for hours in the PFD Food Services Tasmanian oaks at The TOTE Racing Centre tonight.

Temper Tantrum defeated Khandallah in the Strutt Stakes over 2100m in Hobart 10 days ago and while fixed odds operators are expecting the same result tonight very little separates the two with Temper Tantrum quoted at $2.80 with BetaSport and Khandallah at $3.90.

The Victorian-trained duo meet a similar line-up tonight as they met in the Strutt Stakes with local filly Anelene and the David Hayes-trained Rock Robster added to the mix.

Rock Robster comes off a last-start win over 1750m at Pakenham in country Victoria and she won impressively.

However, the filly is yet to be tried beyond 1750m unlike many of her rivals.

Anelene, prepared at Longford by Tasmania Hall of Fame trainer George Blacker, has been aimed at this race from the outset of her three-year-old preparation.

The filly has suffered with joint problems this time in but Blacker says she didn’t pull up sore after her latest effort in the Listed Vamos Stakes over 1400m in which she finished eighth of 11 but was only 2.2 lengths from the winner Lady Lynette.

Gee Gee’s La Quita led in the Strutt Stakes and battled on gamely to run third to the Victorian pair so she can be expected to be very competitive again.

Oxy Angel got too far back in the Strutt Stakes but her chances have been enhanced tonight with the booking of Craig Newitt as her pilot.
