HALL of Fame trainer Gary White will raise the bar on his promising three-year-old Barysh Quest after the gelding scored an impressive maiden win at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart on Sunday.

Barysh Quest (West Quest-Miss Barysh) was having his third start this preparation and it was only his fourth career outing.

The well bred gelding raced greenly during the race but once he balanced up in the home straight he put the end result beyond doubt a long way from home.

Barysh Quest ($3.60) went on to defeat race leader Savannah Cat by three lengths with the favourite Stacy Ann a length away third.

White has always had a good opinion of the gelding and has hopes of aiming him at the Tasmanian Guineas.
