FORMER Victorian greyhound Winston Wolf will attempt to keep his unbeaten record in Tasmania intact when he steps out in a grade five (race six) over 461 metres at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart tonight.

Winston Wolf impressed at his Tasmanian debut two weeks ago with a game win over Poppy’s Singer in a juvenile in Hobart over 461 metres.

Poppy’s Singer franked the form by scoring an emphatic win in juvenile company last week.

Trainer Rod Ransley took Winston Wolf to Devonport last Tuesday where he again impressed with a strong win in a grade five over 452m.

Winston Wolf (Bit Chili-Smell The Roses) lines up against a similar field that he demolished at Devonport last Tuesday week.

He will wear the blue vest (box 4) tonight but provided the dog in box five, Platinum layer, misses the start as he usually does Ransley’s dog should get a clear run to the top turn.

His main danger looks to be In The Book that is ideally drawn in box seven as he is coming off a second from box eight behind Club Foot in Hobart last week and Club Foot made the form look good by scoring an emphatic win at Devonport on Tuesday.

Winston Wizard looks a good one-out job in the second leg of the quadrella and the in-form Yappin’ Jack (2) could make the quadrella very gettable for little cost for punters prepared to take him one-out in the anchor leg (race eight).

Faolan (2) and Nooee’s Lad (4) look the only two genuine winning chances in the first leg (race five) and Teddy Tom Boy (1) and his kennel mate Urana Galore (2) should fight out the third leg (race seven).
