The main race featuresTasmania’s best emerging stayers getting their act altogether for the upcoming National Championships to be conducted in Hobart at the end of August.
At this stage Bell Haven from the Ted Medhurst kennel is shaping as our most likely representative although she has had her colours lowered at her last two starts by two of tonight’s opponents in Beaudine (Butch Deverell) and Harry’s Pick (Len Howard).
Bell Haven needs to lead from box rise to show her best and she will get her chance to do so tonight.
Paper Trail (Doug Cassidy) is on the improve and the race could be full of interest if reserve Jethro (Butch Deverell) gets a start – he has the makings of a better than average stayer.
The best bet is Rob Pines (Ted Medhurst) in race seven. He was super impressive beating Rewind last start and he has a huge advantage from box one in a slightly weaker event.
The value runner on tonight’s program is Rose Gold in race eight for Ulverstone trainer Brian Crawford. She keeps on improving and will get the run of the race in this field.
