SPREYTON trainer Barry Campbell reaffirmed his status as the King of the two-year-olds when his well bred filly Wiz Bang scored an emphatic win in a juvenile maiden over 1100 metres at The TOTE Racing Centre in Launceston on Sunday.
Wiz Bang was the most experienced of the 10 runners and she made full use of her race knowledge to score comfortably from first-starter Mon Londo and Lampo that is a stablemate of the winner.
The filly settled in the leading group and when stable apprentice Ismail Toker called on the daughter of West Quest to extend she powered clear and had no trouble holding her rivals at bay.
It was Campbell’s fifth individual two-year-old winner and it took his two-year-old team’s overall win tally to 10 from only 19 starts.
Wiz Bang has started six times for her win and two minor placings.
