STAR SPRINTER Yappin’ Jack returns to top racing after a short break for what should be a stroll in the park in the invitation event (race 7) over 452 metres at Devonport today.
Yappin’ Jack has won five of his past six starts of which the past three have been at invitation level.
The Mick Stringer-trained dog has en excellent record on the Devonport circuit with four wins and a second from only seven starts on the U-bend circuit.
Yappin’ Jack has not started since winning an invitation event over 461 metres in Hobart on September 19 but the freshen-up has been part of his preparation heading towards the Hobart Thousand in December.
Today he will wear the check vest and provided he jumps with them the son of Aston Galilee should secure a nice trail behind the brilliant Nooee’s Lad that usually sling-shots from the boxes.
Yappin’ jack’s major asset is his strength and if he is within striking distance turning for home he should be too strong for his rivals.
Nooee’s Lad (4), Director (5) and the improving Fine Eagle (6) are likely to fight it out for the minor positions.
