CONNECTIONS of promising colt Yasir have set a course for a series of feature three-year-old races this season.
Yasir made it two wins from his past three starts when he powered home to take out the Schweppes Class 1 handicap over 1100 metres at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart yesterday.
With Stephen Maskiell in the saddle, Yasir tracked the leaders into the home straight and when eased to the outside he gunned down Dancing Pegasus over the concluding stages to score by a half-length.
Yasir won two starts prior in Launceston where he impressed with a convincing win over Flash Al Moon that has since won two races in succession.
Yasir is trained at Spreyton by Darryl Horner Snr who expects the colt to contest races such as the 3YO vase and 3YO Cup prior to progressing to the Tasmanian Guineas in early January.
