TALENTED reinsman Mark Yole celebrated his 100th winning drive when he guided Former Victorian Flight To Mikinos to a stirring win at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart on Sunday night.
Flight To Mikinos was having his first start in the state for Lachlan trainer Marc Butler who only took possession of the three-year-old last Friday.
Yole allowed Flight To Mikonos to settle near the rear of the field from his wide second-row draw while Flying Dubai made his way to the front and looked to be travelling like the winner turning for home.
Yole had to take his charge four-wide down the back straight to make his run and he was still spotting the leader 20 metres on the home turn.
But when Yole balanced his charge in the homer straight the three-year-old gelding charged home to defeat Flying Dubai with Sweetchillifilly third, just ahead of the pole market Jebs Xtreme.
